Building Green

Renaissance Place is the first project of its kind being designed to be carbon neutral footprint, to be as independent of national and regional power grids as possible. By utilizing advanced technologies, Renaissance Place plans to generate electricity from renewable sources sufficient to offset its electrical load demand. Any excess electrical load will be available to the power grid to help offset regional peak performance generation.

Renewable Energy Sources

As part of its efforts to achieve energy independence, Renaissance Place will be a platform for companies and technologies to actively demonstrate how they create energy from renewable sources. A showcase facility is planned where government officials, developers and others can visit and see firsthand how these technologies work on a stand-alone basis, as well as in real-time work/live environment.

Renewable energy sources and technologies include:

In addition to energy creation and capture, Renaissance Place will be designed to take advantage of the latest in energy efficient technologies and construction methods designed to reduce energy consumption needs. It is anticipated these efforts will reduce the overall energy requirements of the development significantly and allow residents and businesses to take advantage of incentive programs.
