Renaissance Place Team

The Conroy Development Company

The Conroy Development Company is headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut. It was founded in 1987 by its president, Alexius C. Conroy, to pursue the development and acquisition of retail, office, residential, entertainment and mixed-use projects. The company has been involved in the development of over 7,500,000sf in projects primarily on the east coast of the United States. The Borough of Naugatuck has designated Renaissance Place LLC, an affiliate of The Conroy Development Company, as the developer of Renaissance Place.


Borough of Naugatuck

The Borough of Naugatuck is lead by Mayor Mike Bronko who, with the Board of Burgesses, oversees and implements the operation of government. The Burgesses unanimously approved a resolution designating an affiliate of The Conroy Development Company the developer of Renaissance Place and which established the development areas. The residents of Naugatuck overwhelmingly voted (two-to-one) on May 7, 2007, to authorize the Borough to proceed with developing Renaissance Place.

Led by Chairman Jay Carlson, the Corporation unanimously voted to enter into the agreement with the Borough and an affiliate of The Conroy Development Company for the development of Renaissance Place. The Corporation is a not-for profit quasi-governmental agency that will utilize its authority and interface with governmental entities and the Company in order to support the development of the project.


Divney Tung Schwalbe, LLP. - White Plains, NY

Divney Tung Schwalbe, LLP, is a team of planning, engineering, landscape design and project management professionals formed to plan and implement responsible land use strategies for public and private clients. Founded in 1972 by Senior Partner J. Michael Divney, the firm offers an interdisciplinary approach to the planning and implementation of a development project. This firm is the Project Manager for Renaissance Place and will be responsible for ensuring that all the planning, design and engineering issues are clearly identified, addressed and coordinated so that the project can be developed in a timely and efficient manner.


FXFowle - New York, NY

FXFowle, an architectural and planning firm, has been selected as the Master Planner for the development. They bring substantial experience in large scale, mixed-use development and redevelopment projects, which will be important in the planning of Renaissance Place. The firm has also worked with Metro North and will include in their planning the elements needed for an intermodal transportation center. Their planning work will be led by Mark Strauss who is the past president of the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.


The Law Offices of Jay Malcynsky, P.C. - New Britain, CT

Located in New Britain, Connecticut, The Law Offices of Jay Malcynsky, P. C. provide legal counsel to Renaissance Place LLC. Brendan Fox, Esq., serves as the developer's lead counsel and has been with the firm since 2003. Prior to joining the firm he served as the Executive Director of the Capital City Economic Development Authority, a state quasi-public authority responsible for spearheading development in downtown Hartford, Connecticut.

Aberdeen Associates, Inc., a communications and government relations firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut, specializes in comprehensive communications. Its principals have extensive experience working on real estate development projects throughout the region. Aberdeen is responsible for establishing and maintaining a proactive community relations program to help facilitate the public/private partnership of the development. Aberdeen's principals have over 45 years combined government relations experience and will oversee communications with federal, state and local agencies, as needed.
